Hi Emily, it has been a while. I noticed on Facebook all the things you have been up to. Nice places you have seen as well.
I’m following Alex’s advice to stick with the cakes. It’s slowly getting there but I first had to get a few thing sorted in the house. At long last it’s all coming together nicely, just waiting for my brother to finish my web page.
Hubby and I are going to South Africa for Christmas. I would love to see you and everyone else before we go.
Have fun out there and speak to you soon.

Guys! It's been waaay too long - how's it going? Where is everyone at? Would love to hear pieces of everyone's current lives....
As for me, I am currently in San Francisco for a few weeks - went to a delicious wee restaurant last night - first time i've had a meal out since July as we've been at sea for so long and nice places have been few and far between. It is simply amazing to 'hit' land again and jump back into civilisation.
I cannot believe we were cooking together 5 months ago! Totally insane! If anyone is around late Nov/Dec I will be back for a month on leave but will let you know of dates nearer the time :-)
Much love to you all x
It really looks like a busy week for everyone, Great News!!!
Anyway, my news is taking a little bit longer than anticipated. Had my trail and it was good. Talk about an eye opener. They do take a lot of shortcuts, but it is a start for someone like me with little experience. Luckily it wasn't too busy and the chef was pleased with me. Unfortunately there is another person going for a trail next week. All fingers crossed till Wednesday.
Dudes! Look at all the news, it's all a movin' and a shakin'. Massive congrats Karon, Alex and Em! Karon, you're surrounded by water! Sounds like an awesome job, can't wait to hear more. Alex, you gave them your thumb, the least they could do was give a talented & now disabled you a job, it's only fair, so pleased for you, (not for the thumb incident obviously, ouchi, I feel your pain). Em, glad to hear all is well with the world at sea, apart from the getting lost part, you'll know your way round in no time, where's the boat now? Me? I'm sweating it out in the girly catering kitchen still & loving it, Alex got to witness the heat first hand the other day as we needed an extra pair (hope it wasn't too awful- your orange & polenta cake sold out in 2 days!) Am on a job today, Saturday, but am a little early, I didn't get the cold van & I have clotted cream in the boot, brilliant. Oh the joys of outside catering. We're shutting down for August so I'll need to keep myself busy for the month. Lujuan, you can't keep us in suspence, what news of you? Andrew, where are you? Making cheese?
Hi Kim, better late than never!
i would suggest Chocolate Desserts by Pierre Herme or any of his books. Gordon Ramsey's Just Desserts is another inspiring read.
